Jazz Capital Events’ Premier Soul-Jazz Band Returns Home After A Successful 5-Country Tour

Adam Scone, Kevin Louis, Aaron Thurston, and Kevin Jones, pictured here on stage in Quito, Ecuador, returned home to New York City this past week after a successful four-week tour of South America. The group performed concerts and presented workshops on jazz and improvisation throughout Uruguay, Suriname, Ecuador, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic. The tour was presented under the auspices of the the US Department of State Bureau of Cultural Affairs and organized by Jazz At Lincoln Center. Dubbed “The Rhythm Road” tour, Jazz Capital Events’ premier soul-jazz group, The Cultures of Rhythm, was featured at jazz festivals, concert halls, national theatres, and Universities. In all, over 20 events were performed by the band.
Audiences received the group with raucous ovations. The Cultures of Rhythm’s blend of jazz and blues with African and Latin rhythms went over fantastically. In every city they visitied, the audiences danced, sang, clapped, and stood.
